Getting started
Use any BoringPDF tool in four steps, which browsers are supported, and what happens the first time you run a tool.
Use a tool in four steps
- Pick a tool from the homepage or the All tools menu.
- Drop your file onto the page, or choose it from your device.
- Adjust the settings and preview the result where the tool offers a preview.
- Download the new file. Your original file is never modified.
Supported browsers
BoringPDF works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. A desktop or laptop gives the best experience, especially for large files and Office conversions.
If your browser is missing something a tool needs, a notice at the top of the tool page explains what to do.
The first time you use a tool
Most tools start instantly. Office conversion, OCR and PDF/A download a processing engine the first time you use them, so that first run takes a little longer. Later runs are usually faster.
Staying up to date
BoringPDF checks for new versions while it's open. Information pages like this one refresh automatically.
On a tool page, an Update app button appears instead, so an update never interrupts your work. Updating reloads the tool and clears its files, so download any results you want to keep first. The button stays disabled while a file is being processed.
