v0.1.4Latest

Light or dark, one switch.

Choose light or dark mode with a single switch in the navigation, starting from light mode.

Improved

  • BoringPDF opens in light mode on your first visit. Flip the light and dark switch in the navigation, and your choice is remembered for your next visit.
v0.1.3

Every tool, one page.

Browse and search every tool on a single page, and get back on track quickly when a link is broken.

Added

  • Reach out with questions, bug reports, or ideas through the X profiles on the Contact page. Learn more
  • All tools in the menu and the page footer now take you straight to the searchable tool list on the homepage. Learn more

Improved

  • Broken or mistyped links now open a mascot scene with popular tools floating around it, so you can choose a tool or browse the full list.
v0.1.2

Better guidance. More control.

Choose a comfortable appearance, get smoother answers from the AI Assistant, control layouts for individual images, and edit PDFs comfortably on phones and tablets.

Added

  • Click an output file name to rename it before downloading. File formats stay the same, and renamed files keep their names inside ZIP downloads.
  • Browse tool updates by version, search for a change, or filter the changelog to see new features, improvements, and fixes.
  • Switch between light and dark mode from the navigation. Your appearance preference is remembered for your next visit.
  • Find getting-started guides, tool instructions, workflow help, and troubleshooting in the documentation. The page navigation follows the section you are reading. Learn more

Improved

  • Links to BoringPDF show a new preview image with the tools grouped by what they do, so people can see everything BoringPDF offers before they open it.
  • The BoringPDF icon in your browser tab is bolder and sharper, so it is easy to spot in light and dark mode.
  • Each tool now has a colored icon that shows its file type or purpose, so tools are easier to tell apart in the tool menu, on tool pages, and in Workflow Maker. The colors suit both light and dark mode.
  • Apply page size, orientation, margins, and image fit to selected images in Image to PDF. Mix layouts in one document without changing every image. Learn more
  • Edit PDF works with touch on phones and tablets. Tap to place items, drag and resize them with larger handles, pinch to zoom the page, and open an item's style options from the item itself. Learn more
  • Every item in Edit PDF is selected, moved, resized, and duplicated the same way, and a whole move or resize undoes in one step. Learn more
  • Edit PDF zooms in while you type into a text box or note on a phone, so your words are readable, then returns to your previous view when you finish. Learn more
  • Edit PDF saves comments as PDF notes, file attachments as attachments, and emoji and WebP images as pictures. Saved text wraps and lines up the way it looks in the editor. Learn more
  • The home page and tools fit phones and tablets better. Swipe through tool categories, scan a more compact tool list, and reach remove and rotate buttons on touch screens without hovering.
  • Read AI Assistant replies as they arrive and keep writing while your document attachments are prepared. Preparation progress shows when attachments are ready. Learn more

Fixed

  • PDF tools load their required files consistently before starting.
  • Retry selecting the same PDF, add PDFs without file-type metadata, and clear batch uploads without unfinished previews restoring old files or errors.
  • The AI Assistant uses the content of supported document attachments when answering your questions. Learn more
  • Typing in a search box on an iPhone or iPad no longer leaves the page zoomed in.
  • PDF Viewer fits your page to the screen on phones and keeps its page and zoom controls within reach. Learn more
  • Crop PDF fits your page to the screen on phones instead of opening it zoomed in. Learn more
  • AI Assistant replies keep links and code intact. When your AI provider declines a request, a clear message lets you try again without saving an incomplete answer. Learn more
v0.1.1

Easier to find. Smoother to use.

Find the right tool more easily, share it with others, and work with compression, watermarks, and page numbers more reliably.

Added

  • A tool navigation menu groups tools by what you want to do, making the right tool easier to find.

Improved

  • Share a tool with others using its share controls. Link previews and clearer page titles help them recognize the tool.
  • Clearer guidance explains how to use the tools, which tasks stay on your device, and how the optional AI Assistant works. Learn more

Fixed

  • Compress PDF starts processing correctly when you open the tool on the website. Learn more
  • Watermark and page-number tools correctly apply a page range entered while your PDF is still opening. Learn more
